The Coho Standard Nassua
-
2 man teams, played at 90% net off the low man unless close enough caps to play straight up
-
Breakfast balls off first tee (if you choose to hit one you play it)
-
Automatic 2-down presses
-
Sides are worth $10, but this can be adjusted on first tee to whatever suits the group
-
Dots are pooled to form sides, as follows:
-
First team that gets 5 dots wins a side, and a fresh dot pool starts
-
Whoever has the most dots in the last dot pool at the close of #18 wins the final pool
-
Dots are recorded as soon as shot is holed or given (this is important in a race to 5)
-
-
Standard dots are as follows, but others can be added (be creative):
-
Birdies / Eagles (worth 2)
-
Greenies (closest to the pin on par 3s, but have to 2 putt),
-
Whippins (a hole out for par or better from off the green)
-
Sandies (up and down from the sand for par or better, but note: has to be an up and down or hole out, i.e. the next shot after the bunker shot has to be holed; you can double these up if two shots out of bunker then holing for par)
-
You can get multiple dots on one hole, e.g. a bunket shot holed for birdie is a birdie, whippin, sandy for 3 dots
-
Snakes - Opposing team can call a snake if they want to wager a player on the other team will 3 putt. If the player 3 putts the opposing team gets a dot, if they 4 putt the opposing team gets 3 dots. If they 2 putt they get the dot, and if they 1 putt they get 3 dots.

Coho Vegas
An optional, higher stakes game best played with equally matched teams so handicaps do not have to be used. Another 4-ball match where the two scores from each team are combined to form a 2-digit number. For example, if team A makes a 4 and 5 on hole 1 (a par 4) and team B makes a 5 and 6, the score is 45 to 56 so +11 for team A; note the low score is used as the first digit. If a player makes a birdie or better, this flips the other team's digits so the higher number goes first. So for the example above if one player on team A made a 3, the score would be 35 to 65 for +30. If both players on the same team make birdie or better the bet for that hole is doubled. For example, team A makes two 3s and team B makes a 4 and a 5. That is 33-54 and bet is doubled so result is +42.
Standard game at Cohasset is $1 a point with a max loss of $100 per player, but points and maxes can be negotiated on first tee.
The Coho Bellagio Add-on
Can be decided on first tee as an available option and works as follows:
After the completion of the 17th hole, the losing team can put it all on the line and go double or nothing on the final hole. For example, team A is down $50 dollars through 17 and 1 down in a final match (assume $10 Nassau). Team A can go “Bellagio” and play the 18th hole for $60 dollars (they are forfeiting the final open match they are down to execute the option). If they win the hole, they break even. If the tie, they lose the $60 and if they lose the hole they lose $120.
